President Aquino dies at 76

The first Filipina President had taken her final breath this morning at 3:18 a.m.

I just want to pay my tribute to this woman. Not because she had died but because i want to thank her for the Democracy that the Philippines have when she overthrow Pres. Marcos’ dictatorship. Giving everybody a chance to be a freeman.

though I know many Filipino are not satisfied with her reign as president. Still, her time is one of the most beautiful presidency in all time.

Far better than the present that we have.

Artificial brain

During the annual Technology, Entertainment, Design global conference a british professor had told the confereence that he is developing an artificial brain. And he also said that this can be done in the next 10 years. With the aid of this technology many mentally sick person can be given a new way of treatment for themselves.

Though the professor, Professor Henry Markham, told the conference that the human brain is one of the most complex organ in the body making it nearly as a scary organ. But still, he doesn’t think that the project is really impossible. He told the conference that if he think he had completed the idea or the solution for it, he will send a hologram of his project.

Now, he is studying how to complete a rat’s brain. Yet, he told the press that scientist need to stop using animals in their research because it is so cruel, making all the animal rights activists so happ about the news.

If this be true, hmmm…. I’ll just cross my finger and wait.

Typhoon Feria in the Philippines

After the cases of Influenza A(h1n1) had infiltrated the Philippines. A new dilemma is here. A new typhoon had hit the Philippines—Typhoon Feria. Some classes were suspended due to this typhoon. And also some bad effects were seen in the Luzon part of the Philippines. On places, were “ipo-ipo” had occured. And also in one small town, there was a snow-rain.

The big problem now, are the stranded passengers of ships because the Philippine Coast Guard had ordered to cancel all trip so as to insure the safety of all the passengers.

This typhoon will be worsening the influenza A(h1n1) because the public might be getting wrong impression. Because in this rainy season, the seasonal flu is very rampant. And this might arise the panic of the public because they might think that they have A(h1n1), though, they only has this seasonla flu.

I hope the typhoon would be ending soon.

311 cases of Influenza A(H1N1) virus

Health Secretary Francisco Duque had told the media that there were 64 new cases of A(h1n1) virus and because of this the total cases of the flu victims had reached 311. 93 of this had been cured. And the good news with this is the fact that no one died from the virus.

Another good news is the announcement of the President that all the patient that will be infected will be given free medication. I hope this will continue.

On the other side, I hope pharmaceutical companies won’t have price-hike that will be a burden to the public.

I really believe that the government and all other units and the World Health Organization are doing everything that they can to contain and kill this virus.

A community outbreak of A(h1n1) virus

I really can’t believe what I had heard from the news that a community outbreak have been reported from a small baranggay in Nueva Ecija, it is a little bit sad. I mean, in a community outbreak, the containment of the virus is not that possible.

DOH had been doing what they can. From the medication to the tips to the people.I guess baranggay hopping is a No No at this moment. DOH really want that the virus would not be carried on the nearest baranggay. So, containment is a must.

I guess, people would just follow what the Doctor’s will tell them so as to prevent more community outbreaks in the near future.

Phase 6 declaration by WHO with regards to Influenza A(h1n1)

Just this morning the Department of Health of the Philippines announced that the World Health Organization had declared that Influenza A(h1n1) virus spread had reached the highest rank in the outbreak scheme of WHO.

With this announcement, DOH secretary told the media that it is now the responsibility of the government of the Philippines what rules and regulation to implement to help the cut down of the spread. Though the secretary also said that no community outbreak has been reported, I think prevention is still better.

Closing of schools might happen in Universities or schools if an outbreak is reported in that certain campus, so as to prevent more cases.

The Philippine’s topped the A(h1n1) virus count in SouthEast Asia

Sadly, the Philippines is now the record holder for the highest count of victims of A(h1n1) virus. Just this morning, the total cases of swine flu has¬† reached the last two digit—99. This is a little bit alarming for the all Filipinos, because panicking seems to be essential at this point.

A case of death that is not yet confirmed if due to swine flu, is reported from a school in the Philippines. With due to this, parents from that school were terribly panicking and were afraid if their children had contact with that child.

DOH had declared that the people should not panick. For the disease is not yet a major pandemic, they also said that Dengue, a disease brought by mosquito bite, seems to be more fatal than swine flu. Death from Dengue is much higher than in Swine flu and Dengue has no definite cure.

Is this the right time to declare H1N1 flu pandemic?

The WHO(World Health Organization) is trying to decide if it is right to declare that H1N1 flu is pandemic. If they do so, this will be the first declaration in more than 40 years. But they still want to see if countries around the world can handle this so that people won’t panic.

In the phases of the flu, from the WHO 6-phases, it is now in its 5th phase. Because of the spread of a new strain in Australia and North America, they might declare that the virus is in its 6th phase—triggering a full blown pandemic declaration.

With today’s cases, I think people should wait as to when to panic. But this doesn’t mean that we should relax. I guess a little prevention cannot harm anyone. Prevention is really much better than cure.

Let’s just cross our fingers and hope for a better news.

Influenza A(h1n1) up to 54 cases

This afternoon, the news had reported that from 49 the cases jumps to 54. And sadly, 2 schools in Manila suspended their classes due to the fact that a student their had been a carrier. The contact-tracing were done immediately. But I guess, self-quarantine of the students from those schools would help to prevent a community outbreak.

DOH had said that the public must not panic because the strand of the Influenza A(h1n1) is a mild one. That’s why those patients were treated immediately. And their recovery is faster than to other victims from other country.
