Typhoon Feria in the Philippines

After the cases of Influenza A(h1n1) had infiltrated the Philippines. A new dilemma is here. A new typhoon had hit the Philippines—Typhoon Feria. Some classes were suspended due to this typhoon. And also some bad effects were seen in the Luzon part of the Philippines. On places, were “ipo-ipo” had occured. And also in one small town, there was a snow-rain.

The big problem now, are the stranded passengers of ships because the Philippine Coast Guard had ordered to cancel all trip so as to insure the safety of all the passengers.

This typhoon will be worsening the influenza A(h1n1) because the public might be getting wrong impression. Because in this rainy season, the seasonal flu is very rampant. And this might arise the panic of the public because they might think that they have A(h1n1), though, they only has this seasonla flu.

I hope the typhoon would be ending soon.

A community outbreak of A(h1n1) virus

I really can’t believe what I had heard from the news that a community outbreak have been reported from a small baranggay in Nueva Ecija, it is a little bit sad. I mean, in a community outbreak, the containment of the virus is not that possible.

DOH had been doing what they can. From the medication to the tips to the people.I guess baranggay hopping is a No No at this moment. DOH really want that the virus would not be carried on the nearest baranggay. So, containment is a must.

I guess, people would just follow what the Doctor’s will tell them so as to prevent more community outbreaks in the near future.

Phase 6 declaration by WHO with regards to Influenza A(h1n1)

Just this morning the Department of Health of the Philippines announced that the World Health Organization had declared that Influenza A(h1n1) virus spread had reached the highest rank in the outbreak scheme of WHO.

With this announcement, DOH secretary told the media that it is now the responsibility of the government of the Philippines what rules and regulation to implement to help the cut down of the spread. Though the secretary also said that no community outbreak has been reported, I think prevention is still better.

Closing of schools might happen in Universities or schools if an outbreak is reported in that certain campus, so as to prevent more cases.
